10-Minute Air Fryer Naan Pizza (Super Easy!)

If like me you love the idea of getting dinner on the table in just 10 minutes, this super simple air fryer naan pizza recipe is for you!
No need to pre-heat your oven or wait for dough to rise. Just scatter pasta sauce and your favorite toppings over pre-made naan, then let your air fryer do its thing. In minutes, you’ll have personal (customizable!) pizzas that are fluffy and light on the inside and crispy on the outside.

What’s naan bread? It’s a type of Indian flat bread baked from a soft dough and cooked at a high temperature. It has a soft and fluffy texture, often with a slightly charred and smoky flavor. Delicious and perfect for pizzas!
Ingredients
You can honestly add any toppings you like. But the toppings don’t need to be fancy!
I love to make a margherita-style pizza, so this is what I most often grab to make my air fryer pizzas with naan bread:
Store-bought naan bread: If your air fryer is big enough, regular naans make great any-time invididual pizzas for the family. Alternatively, mini naan bread is perfect for smaller air fryers, not to mention lunch boxes or after school snacks. Don’t you think?
You can even cut regular sized naans into smaller pieces to fit if you prefer. Also, why not try other varieties of naan bread such as garlic naan, tandoori naan, whole wheat naan or cheese naan?
I usually find pre-made naan bread in the bakery section or aisle at the supermarket, or sometimes in the fresh food section.
Good quality jarred pasta or pizza sauce: I usually grab a simple jar of pasta sauce, perhaps with some garlic or herbs inside. But pizza sauce, marinara sauce or passata will work just as well.
Small mozzarella balls: These are sometimes called ‘bocconcini’, which is just a fancier name for mini mozzarella balls. By all means use one large mozzarella ball instead, which you can often buy from a supermarket deli counter.
If all else fails, there is nothing wrong with using grated mozzarella or pizza blend cheese – I just think the mozzarella balls look more classy!
Parmesan cheese: Grated or shaved. Add this, or don’t add this, but I do tend to think it’s the icing on the cake!
Sun dried tomatoes: These have such an intense, sweet and tangy flavor that elevates a margherita-style pizza like this naan pizza perfectly. Either use sun dried tomato strips or chop up some whole sun dried tomatoes.
In a pinch you can use halved cherry tomatoes or thick slices of larger tasty tomatoes instead, if they’re in season.
Fresh basil: I feel like scattering some big fresh basil leaves over the finished air fried naan pizzas is non-negotiable! Of course it’s up to you, but I highly recommend not skipping this.
Freshly ground black pepper: Another non-negotiable. Only kidding, but it’s the small things that really elevate a simple pizza such as this and make it taste and look more delicious than you would expect.
How to make a naan pizza in an air fryer
The step-by-step guide below should help you make the recipe perfectly first time. Scroll down to the end for the full recipe including ingredient amounts.
This air fryer naan bread pizza is almost so easy to make that it isn’t a recipe at all!
Firstly, pre-heat your air fryer to 190C/375F. I actually like to add my naan bread to the air fryer at this point (before adding the toppings). The pizza ends up just that little bit more crisp!
Then assemble your regular or mini naan pizzas. You can either do this while the bread is still inside the air fryer, or you can remove it to add the toppings if it’s easier.
Firstly, spread some pasta sauce (around 4 tablespoons for a regular sized naan) all over the naan bread.
Then place the chopped mozzarella balls and sun dried tomatoes evenly on top.
Also sprinkle over the grated parmesan cheese and grind over plenty of black pepper (if you wish!).
Of course, these are only my suggestions for easy toppings. You can add any toppings you like!
Place the pizza directly into the air fryer basket and air fry for 5-7 minutes (depending on your air fryer – I tend to go for 7 minutes to ensure crispy pizza!).
If using a smaller air fryer like the one on the right, you might have to use mini naans instead of regular sized.
Sprinkle over fresh basil just before serving! Don’t skip this. Look how pretty it looks!
Helen’s Top Tips
- Your naan pizza is ready when it’s crisp and browned on the edges and on top – without being burned, of course. Keep an eye on it after 5 minutes since every air fryer is a bit different.
- If you like your pizza base extra crisp (I do!), place your naan bread in the air fryer while you are pre-heating it (before you add any toppings!).
- You might like to avoid light weight toppings such as pepperoni since they might blow around the air fryer. Alternatively, simply pop an air fryer rack on top of your pizza as it cooks.
Variations
Alternative easy toppings
You can add all sorts of toppings to naan pizzas, of course – whatever you have in the fridge, or whatever are your favorites.
Here are a few examples, but really there are no rules!
- cooked mushrooms or caramelised onions (just cook the mushrooms slowly in a pan with a bit of butter and sugar or honey)
- cooked ham (don’t forget the pineapple!), bacon, pepperoni, leftover rotisserie chicken etc.
- cooked sausage and green peppers
- pesto or BBQ sauce instead of classic pasta sauce
- leftover roasted vegetables
- jarred antipasto such as artichokes, olives and roasted peppers
- ‘fancy’ cheeses such as feta, goat’s cheese, emmenthal or ricotta
- try a ‘white pizza’ with alfredo sauce
- Greek style with olives, feta cheese, thinly sliced red onions, dried oregano and sliced fresh tomatoes
Keep an eye on the toppings to check they aren’t burning, but as the pizza is only in the air fryer for a short time they usually do fine.
Peshwari naan (with a coconut, raisin and almond filling inside) may not be to everyone’s taste, but I wonder if it would work well as a ham and pineapple pizza?
Top tip: Either pan-fry vegetables before adding them to your pizza, or cut them very thinly so that they cook on top of the pizza e.g. peppers, zucchini, mushrooms.
How to serve
Since this is such a ridiculously simple meal, I don’t want to complicate it by adding any fussy sides!
I usually serve it with a very simple salad. Whatever you have in the fridge, really, or try making a quick Greek village salad or Greek lettuce salad. Either of these will take just a few minutes’ extra to prepare.
Or… for something just that little bit different, and for more veggie goodness, how about serving some of this delicious 15-minute air-fried cauliflower on the side? I’d make it just before you throw in your pizzas. Cover loosely with aluminium foil to keep it warm!

Recipe FAQ
Yes! You can make personal air fryer flatbread pizza with several other types of bread I can think of: Lebanese bread, pitta bread, Turkish bread, bagels, or this homemade easy focaccia bread (no kneading required!). Basically any kind of flat bread that you think might be suitable – give it a go!

If you find this to be a problem, I’d suggest getting an air fryer rack to place over the top of your pizza as it cooks.
Absolutely! Keep frozen naan breads in the freezer for a last-minute pizza dinner option. You can make your pizzas without defrosting the naan bread first. If you do this, however, you’ll want to add the naans to the air fryer while pre-heating it.
Sure! If you do have any leftover pizza, keep it well covered in the fridge for up to a day. Remove any fresh basil, then simply reheat in the air fryer for 3 to 4 minutes at 340F/170C. Add more fresh basil and enjoy.

10-Minute Air Fryer Naan Pizza (Super Easy!)
Ingredients
- 1 naan bread, ready baked (full sized), or several mini naans
- 3 tablespoons pasta sauce, jarred or fresh of your choice
- 4 mini mozzarella balls, (bocconcini)
- 3 sundried tomatoes, cut into pieces, or use sundried tomato strips
- ¼ cup parmesan cheese, grated
- black pepper to taste
- ¼ bunch fresh basil, fresh (1 handful)
to serve (suggestion)
- A simple salad such as green salad, garden salad or Greek salad.
Instructions
- Pre-heat the air fryer to 375F / 190C. If you like extra crispy pizza, add the naan bread (without the toppings) to the air fryer at this point.
- Spread the pasta sauce over the naan bread, then scatter with the mozzarella and tomatoes, parmesan (if using), and black pepper. This can either be done inside the air fryer, or on a wooden board or plate.1 naan bread, 3 tablespoons pasta sauce, 4 mini mozzarella balls, 3 sundried tomatoes, ¼ cup parmesan cheese, black pepper to taste
- Cook in the air fryer basket for 5-7 minutes, or until the mozzarella is bubbling and starting to brown. Check half way through if making for the first time in your air fryer.

Have been buying the Naan Stone Authentic Flat Bread from Costco for a long time.
I put it in the toaster oven, the best is to put Hellman’s Mayo on both sides after you cut it open, i take two Romain lettuce leaves, some Hot Sliced Cherry Peppers (Napoli), slices of tomato and top it off with some good bacon, 1 1/2 slice.
The other day made it and it was delicious, cleaning up noticed that the bacon was still in the frying pan!
Another vegetarian recipe now.
Your 1 hour Air Fryer Rotisserie Chicken looks tempting, but cheaper to buy these from Costco $ 4.99 Best 1st day, i freeze the thigh and leg part, upon use sprinkle with a mixture of Montreal steak & Umani, Fry in part olive oil and butter (Costco s rotisserie chicken and the $ 1.50 hot dog since 1986 now probably will be ending soon ?)
