scrumptious + yummy = scrummy … in case you were wondering!
New here?
Hopefully you can find something you’d like to try today. 99% of my recipes are quick, easy, mostly healthy…
…and, above all, tasty (well, I try at least!)
I hope you enjoy having a good look around. You can find a list of all my recipes here, or maybe you’re looking for easy meals for the whole family, something to take along to a party, a quick and easy dessert… or something Greek (my favourite!).
It’s hard to pick absolute favourites, but if I had to I’d go for this chicken and butternut squash satay curry, these low sugar Greek yogurt blueberry muffins, this 6-ingredient Swedish chocolate cake, and these best Greek potatoes.
These recipes are some of our go-tos, and I truly hope they become yours too.
Enjoy!
A small disclosure…
I now live in Australia, but I have spent many years in the Greek sunshine stuffing myself to contentment with Greek salads, moussaka and ‘tiropites’ and ‘spanakopites’ (delicious cheese and spinach pies).
So my recipes may sometimes feature a little too much feta cheese!
I always love to hear from you!

hello – just a question re the blueberry muffins. Is the 1 tablespoon of baking powder correct?
Thanks!
Helen says
Hello Pat, yes it is! It makes for lovely fluffy muffins, and there isn’t a strange taste or anything. I hope you like them!

Hi Helen,
I’ve just enjoyed browsing through your site. All the recipes look wonderful and I am sure we will use them all, frequently.
Please give my dearest love to Perth. I used to live there (Brigadoon) and I still really miss it.
Kindest regards and best wishes to you and your family,
Helen says
Hello Gillian! Thank you so much for the kind compliment! I’m so happy you like the look of some of the recipes. Do let me know what you think! I will for sure pass my regards on to Perth for you 😉 Doing pretty well. It’s lovely and warm and sunny right now (without being too hot) but I think the rain is coming this week. I live in the Hills, so nowhere near Brigadoon, but there are so many lovely spots in Perth! 🙂

I just want to share that I do a lot of baking and have many discerning taste testers that I feed. Your recipe for Healthy Chocolate Cake is by far everyone’s favorite. There are rarely even crumbs leftover! It is so simple, and quick and moist. These days it’s also my favorite to bake and give away. Many friends have asked for the recipe so I’ve shared it. People do not believe the icing is so simple. Truly a wonder in the world of chocolate lovers. Thank you for bringing it to us!

Hello Gabby! Thank you SO MUCH for this comment. You’ve made my day – really. This cake is one of my favourite recipes on the site too. I couldn’t believe it turned out so well after relatively little tweaking. Everyone who I give it to just can’t believe it’s a healthy cake. Sooo glad you like it as much as I do! I was determined to find a healthier cake that tastes just as good as unhealthy ones 😉

Hello Helen
A random search for apple cake to try came up with Scrummy Lane. It was the best yet, so I became an enthusiastic subscriber and am about to go for your lemon loaf.
However, have you given us conversion tables somewhere? I have not found equivalents for cup measurements anywhere yet. I have spotted that US, NZ and Aus etc are all slightly different, and I am still cooking with GB lbs and ozs, and gs.
I love your enthusiasm.
Helen says
Hello Judith! Thank you so much for leaving such a lovely comment. I’m so happy you’ve signed up and very flattered that you liked the apple cake so much! I’m also encouraged that you noticed how enthusiastic I am about the blog! I love what I do! As for the conversions, there are actually 2 underlined buttons just under where it says ‘Ingredients’ in the recipe card. You can click whichever you prefer! I chose to have my default in ‘cups’ a long time ago even though I’m a Brit (!). A few readers have mentioned having difficulty finding the conversion button though so I think I’m going to try to find a way to make it clearer. Thanks again for taking the time to leave a message and please do let me know if you’re still having trouble finding the button to convert 🙂

Hi Helen, love the recipes !
As a fellow Perthite and follower of food blogs from around the world, I’m just wondering what measurements you use for cups and tablespoons, USA or Aus, or even British ? Eg: 240ml or 250ml for Cups, and more importantly 15ml or 20ml for Tablespoons ?
Regards,
Richard.
Helen says
Hello Richard! How wonderful that you’re following along from Perth! That’s a great question. What I tend to do is use a 250ml cup for most recipes. I find that for most of my savoury recipes the slight difference just doesn’t matter enough to mention e.g. the amount of cheese in a quiche. If the recipe is something that will appeal more to a US audience, I may switch and use 240ml cups, but if I do that I reflect the difference in the ‘grams’ tab for UK and Australian readers! For sweet recipes I realise the difference can matter, but I try to make sure there’s no confusion on a case by case basis. If you ever have any questions regarding a particular recipe, do feel free to email me or leave a message in the comments again! Nice to ‘meet’ you, Richard!

Just tried your Imposible Quiche ( with my choice of fillings)and it was a hit!
Really moist, savory and the thin invisible crust that adding the flour produced made it easy to cut and serve.
Amazing!!
Just had to sign up after my first time in your website.
Thanks
Abi

Hello Abilia! Aw this message has made my day – thank you! I’m so happy you enjoyed the quiche – it’s one of my most popular recipes, actually. I really hope you can find some more recipes you like as much and that you enjoy the emails!
